I found this excursion quite enjoyable. The driver was friendly, especially when it came to ensuring my son was enjoying himself. The food was nice and the views were interesting. The only downfall which wasn't too much of an issue was the camel ride which would benefit from a change of route. The best part was the off road if you enjoy a bit more of a thrill.

Do not fall for it. It is depressing dusty and the off road feels like you are in a washing machine with a lot of dust. The Jeeps a held with cable ties and it does not feel safe at all. The seats are fluid and unsecured to the floor. The camel ride is pure torture for the riders and the camels. There is nothing to see and at every stop you are confined to a very small place. The only good stop is the Aloe Vera plantation. We have been to off road trips before and liked it which was the reason we booked it but this trip is not. The company is called Viajes Tara.Avoid avoid avoid.

We had a splendid day. We were picked up and dropped off outside our hotel. The scenery was mesmerising, and our driver, Antonio, was a pleasure to ride with. He provided information about gran canaria that you would not have had if you explored the island yourself. Food is provided, and it was exceptional, more than we expected as well. Would definitely recommend this service to anyone who wishes to see the real gran canaria, and not the tourist areas. Would suggest to take water, a jacket as the wind can pick up the further you go into the mountains, and a sunhat/suncream as you are exposed in the sun for most of the day

Interesting trip to say the least. Was booked through a well known British holiday rep company. Our driver Steven was amazing, constantly sharing loads of local knowledge of the area. Some of the later stops were interesting. First a stop at an aloe Vera “shop”. This is where you sit through a questionable presentation where you are fed all these lies of how aloe Vera can rid you of diabetes and other ridiculous claims. All of this was just so they could try and sell you some overpriced garbage. The second stop was at the single most depressing place I have ever visited. A camel park where the animals are treated so dreadfully. Made to walk over huge stones and up steep inclines while carrying the weight of up to 4 people. Not humane in the slightest. Lunch was well interesting. A chicken leg and some “gran Canarian potatoes” ( these were just boiled potatoes). This was laid on on a paper table cloth like you’d expect at an 8 year olds birthday. It appeared like they were just trying to do it as cheap as possible so they could make as much money out of us as possible. I would recommend the safari for the amazing views of the beautiful island but I would say you should steer well clear of the formentioned stops.
